February 20, 2024: The Ann Arbor City Council was again faced with the resolution against military aid to Israel --

Image
At its meeeting of February 20, 2024, the Ann Arbor (Michigan) City Council was again faced with the resolution against military aid to Israel -- -- As 100,000 Palestinians are dead, injured, or buried under rubble by the Israeli military. That Israeli military is still fueled by gigantic military and political support from the U.S. government. The entire City Council still refused to say one word about the resolution or about what Israel is doing to Gaza. City Councilmember Jen Eyer, who took campaign contributions from old Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, also said nothing about Gaza or about the resolution. And that is how genocides happen.  You can watch speeches from that meeting, for the resolution against military aid to Israel, right here: https://youtu.be/o0_pWdo2qrM

On February 20th, tell Ann Arbor City Council to stop blocking the resolution against military aid to Israel:

"Minneapolis City Council overrides Frey's Israel-Hamas veto "Nine votes were needed to override Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey's veto of a controversial City Council resolution." See the full Minneapolis Star Tribune article at:  https://www.startribune.com/minneapolis-city-council-overrides-freys-israel-hamas-veto/600341994/ "...Last week,  Frey vetoed a City Council resolution calling for a ceasefire  in the conflict, as well as an end to U.S. military support for Israel. Frey said he could support a basic statement supporting a ceasefire and the creation of an independent Palestinian state, but he called  the wording approved by the council  'one-sided,' saying it 'uplifts the history of Palestinians, and all but erases that of Israeli Jews.' "Nine of the 13 council members voted in favor of the resolution — just enough to override a veto, so someone would have to change their vote to allow the veto to stand." Minneapolis is now o
