City Councils stand against military aid to Israel

   The  “Resolution in Support of Ending U.S. Military Support for Israel” was approved by the Ann Arbor Human Rights Commission, in December 2003: The Commission urged the Ann Arbor City Council to adopt that resolution. Yet the City Council has thrown its weight against that resolution, and every resolution against military aid to Israel, for the last 20 years. Here is a copy of that 2003  “Resolution in Support of Ending U.S. Military Support for Israel”   by the Ann Arbor Human Rights Commission, from the time they first presented it to the Ann Arbor City Council for adoption:

We have the duty to speak against racist state violence. That means we say "no" to military aid to Israel.  It's time for our seven-word human rights resolution to get a public hearing and a vote at Ann Arbor City Council.  We hope that our resolution will spread to other City Councils, just like the old resolutions against the apartheid state of South Africa in the 1980's.
